Two NYU film-makers were singled out in IndieWIRE's list of 'Ten Exciting New Voices in Black Cinema' in a March 27 article.
Headlining the piece is Rashaad Ernesto Green, a current third year, whose second-year film Premature won the Grand Prize for Best Short Film in the HBO Short Film Competition, and whose film Choices - made as an in-class directing exercise - was in competition at Sundance.
Also included in the list is Grad Film alumna Dee Rees, whose thesis film Pariah won first prize at the Wasserman Awards in 2007 and was in competition at Sundance in 2008.
